. Founding president in 1958 of the Peoria Chapter of the National Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and served as National Trustee for several years. He is member-emeritus of the board of the Greater Illinois Chicago Chapter.
. Founding president of the Ancient Order of Hibernians in Peoria and state president
. Past president and parade grand marshal of the St. Patrick's Society of Peoria
.Co-Founder and president of Volunteers in Action, sponsored by the United Way and Peoria Junior League

Personal:
Bob is married to the former Martha Hodge Marshall of Ipava. They reside in Macomb. He has six children, five step children, 13 grandchildren, and six step-grandchildren. Bob was in advertising and sales promotion business in Peoria for many years and later after 22 years retired from the Comptrollers Office of the State of Illinois. He and Martha are members of Riverside Community Church.
